Churches Together

“Churches Together in Whitby represents those Christian communities which profess the Lord Jesus Christ as God and Saviour according to the scriptures.”

“We commit ourselves to deepening our communion with Christ and with one another and demonstrating God’s love by witness and service in order to bring glory to God.”

Currently we do not have a member of Churches Together but all events are posted on our Notice Boards. 

Our two most important annual events, in which we invite all those who love the Lord to participate: 

(i) The Good Friday Walk of witness, see slideshow. 

(ii) The Town Carol Service, held annually at St. Mary’s Church around about 15th. December. This is a wonderful Sevice with St. Marys splendidly decorated with Christmas trees  by local businesses and/or families. 

(iii) Refugee Day: This had now become an annual event when an invitation was offered to the Centre for Refugees in Thornaby for them to have ‘a day out’ in Whitby. Prior to the day much work was done to collect gifts for the Refugee families, money was collected to make the visit special with trips out on the River Esk etc and finally a meal was provided . Our Church premises have been used as the 'centre' for the day and also  for the meal and the entertainment afterwards; however since the pandemic this activity has been provided by other churches, with some finiancial support from Flowergate URC.
