Regular Sunday Morning Worship at 10.30 am.
Cafe Church Services are held in the Upper Room, usually once every three months. Dates announced in the Newsletters (currently these services are suspended).
Midweek Service in the Celtic traditon. This is an afternoon/evening service, held on the 1st. Thursday in the month. The Service starts at 6.00pm but you are invited to come early and have a 'cuppa' and a chat with those attending. Everyone Welcome.

Bible Study Group. This group meets on the 2nd. Thursday of the month.

When our previous Minister moved back to Tyneside, we at Flowergate were left without a minister for almost six long years. With only a small congregation we were unable to support a minister just for our own Church. The answer to all our prayers was for Flowergate URC to enter into a joint Pastorate with two Churches in Scarborough, Emmanuel St. Johns and St. Andrews. In 2018 the North Yorkshire Coast Joint Pastorate was created and we were able, jointly, to ‘ call’ a new Minister.
On Saturday 11th. August 2018 at St. Andrews United Reformed Church Scarborough, the Ordination and Induction of Joanne Louise Clare-Young to be the Minister of the North Yorkshire Coast Joint Pastorate took place with the Revd. Kevin Watson, Moderator of the Yorkshire Synod URC presiding.
NB. Sadly, as from Jan 2022, Rev Clare-Young left the North Yorkshire Coast Joint Pastorate to join another church. Looking ahead, we are now seeking another minister, together with the two churches in Scarborough and the Yorkshire Synod.

In the meantime the Yorkshire Synod have appointed the Reverend Gordon Smith to be Synod Companion for Flowergate. Gordon is based in York, and he and his wife Anna have taken some of our services, both in Whitby and on zoom.
A music group from Scarborough, led by Ann Bull, entertaining us on our 140th Anniversary.
Special Services, such as, Remembrance Sunday when a wreath is laid at the Altar Table in remembrance of those former members of the congregation who gave their lives in the two World wars. Their names are listed on the Altar Table and this Service ensures that those brave young men are not forgotten.
In 2019 we had a "Remembrance Saturday", when the Church, beautifully decorated with knitted poppies as in the picture, became a centre for British Legion collectors, and coffee and music were provided.

On Christmas Eve we normally join with members of Churches Together to sing carols from the steps of the Church. A public witness of the Christmas story. It has become an even more enjoyable tradition since we added mince pies and mulled wine after the Carol singing. In 2020 this was not possible because of the Covid epidemic, but we did have carol service on zoom on Christmas Eve. Since then this activity has been suspended, partly because of the pandemic and partly because of insufficient numbers.
The Town Carol service, organised by Churches Together, and held at St. Mary’s Parish Church, is always a memorable event. This old Church, lit by candles, with more than a hundred Christmas trees provided and decorated by various organisations and businesses, is a wonderful setting for this special Carol Service.
